Purple Magic PWNn! "Forspoken" Magic Combat

By: goukijones Nov 3, 2022 | 0 Comments

You are a magical parkour damage dealer.

During the last update Forspoken showed off the Parkour magic. Honestly I liked what I saw, but it didn’t really hype me up anymore. Today we get to see the magic combat. Boy does it look sweet. In typical Square Enix/Final Fantasy you have all your traditional magic spells here. There’s stop, confuse, etc, all the ailments. Plus offensive magic like Earth, Fire, and healing. This has been another one of those games that has come after FF7R that just looks like somebody took the shell of FF7R and made another game. Square has done this in the past. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I remember after Final Fantasy XII came out I got every Square rpg for the next year or two that came out hoping to recreate that feeling. I didn’t have much luck. Forspoken is looking pretty pretty good. We’ll find out for sure in January when this game is released.

Coolest looking traversal system I’ve seen.

This game has a few things going for it. It’s a Square Enix game exclusively on the PlayStation 5 (and PC.) The world looks absolutely stunning. Huge vast lands to parkour your ass off. The combat looks very slick with a lot of focus on dodging and yes, traversing around. The Devs list Final Fantasy XV, the Stadia version on theory site, so this is a young company. Hopefully they got some good experience developing FFXV for the Stadia. Forspoken is on my short list of games I’m looking forward to. Check out the latest video describing the HARDCORE PARKOUR!

Really smooth and fun looking combat and traversing.

No lie, I’ve been looking at this game for 2 years I guess. I don’t remember the original name, Project Athia. The trailer from the 2021 Game Awards definitely had my eyes, but this new trailer shows a lot more of the combat and that’s what I like. The world looks huge. Plus I’m coming off a huge playthrough of Horizon Forbidden West and I just can’t get enough of adventure games like this. I’ll be looking forward to trying out Forspoken when/if it comes out in October.
