Borderlands 2 Mr. Torgue's Wild Ride - A level 50 Review

Yesterday Team Gouki (BatRastered & GoukiJones, because FnJimmy & anybody else we know with Borderlands 2 was MIA) played thru the new DLC, Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage. What does it do for a level 50 character? Better or worse than the Priate DLC?

Oh this is going to be all about blithering & blathering. First of all, it was way better than the Pirate DLC. The Pirate DLC felt weak & very dry & very lacking in content of anything interesting at all. The crystal stuff or whatever (I never got 1) was the worst addition. You needed this special (PINK?) currency only dropped from a raid boss you could only fight once a day. Now maybe I was a little Borderlands'd out at that point, since I had 2 level 50 characters & have felt like I have ran thru the main story 6 or 7 times. I was bored. I recently started over again in FF12 & have almost 80 hours in the last 3 weeks. I've also been mixing in Halo 4 & have a level 41 Spartan. BatRastered has done nothing but play Borderlands 2. He has 3 or 4 level 50 characters & a ton of shit. He played a little Halo, he can tell you all that in his review.

You can watch a replay from last nights PWNn of Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage on our Twitch page & please follow us while you're there. Thank you.

Yesterday morning I downloaded the Mr. Torgue, took about 1 hour. I also had to DL another update for Borderlands 2 since I haven't played it in a while. Let's talk about the currency in Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage. Some enemies in some areas drop tokens that can be used in a Mr. Torgue Vending Machine, only found in this DLC area. That's great right, something you can actually farm & purchase by just reloading the game & reloading the enemies in that area. The special deal here is that the guns in the vending machine, "The Deal of Day Gun" is always orange. That's cool, there was also a very sweet level 50 Gunzerker mod that had +32% recharge on your special ability & it did like 3 or 4 other things. I think batty bot it. That was just regular purple on the list, not the deal of the day, so I wonder if orange mods will appear as the deal of the day. Keep your eyes open. Lemme know.

Batty bot it with tokens, he had over a 100 at that point. I had 2. Inside the Moxxxi bar in the Torgue hometown is a slot machine that takes Torgue Tokens, I was dropping all of mine into these machines, 5 tokens per pull. I never got anything good & it had to have been close to 150 tokens spent. Don't be a Jimmy!

Later on that night BatRastered & I continued our quest to be the number 1 in Mr. Torgue Bad Ass Ranking. Kind of something like Afro Samurai or The Running Man where you have to battle your way thru tiered boss fights to get to the guy you REALLY want to kill. This was all, way more fun than the Pirate DLC. I don't think I ever finished the Pirate DLC. What am I supposed to do with my level 50 character in there? Run over the sand crabby worms with my Star Wars sand boat & do flips?

It's definitely not look for chests & the Mr. Torgue has the same problem. I don't understand why I am opening red chests (that are more rare now in Borderlands 2) & get nothing out of them except green guns. Every chest I opened yesterday required some pirouette or back flip to get to. Inside was always nothing more than some purple(Euridium,) which I definitely don't need and/or green guns & white relics. WTF?! That doesn't make me want to run back out to any of the chests in either DLC ever again.

So with all that spilling from my grill in the matter of moments, please allow me to say this about the Mr. Torgue. Buy it! Buy it! before you buy the pirate DLC. If you have the season pass, then you don't give a shit. Let me know in the comments below, your thots on this DLC. Thanks for reading.
