Sim City World Trailer - How will the multiplayer work?

A new video from Gamescon showing how the multiplayer will work in Sim City.

I'm cool with all of this. I'm not cool with an always online connection or the possibility of having to play with these features. What if I don't want to play money wars with some Jimmy on the other side of the world? What if I just want to build my own city, in my own space, in my own time. I may be all wrong and it's not that big a deal at all. I also need to understand that it's not going to be like Sim City 4 or the SNES version at all so I should just deal with it. Fuck! I'm hype. It better be good! C'mon!

I just caught wind of this game and I'm feeling nostalgic for my old SNES Simcity. This looks 1000 times more amazing than what I ever imagined could be done in a Simcity game. I like the idea of how pollution spreads and that you can attract different types of sims depending on the way you construct your city. Not sure I always want to play online though. I would rather play where I control all the cities around the world and thus have more understanding on whats going on in other cities. The Online mode looks cool but it will suck if some douche bag in Europe or China fucks up the world economy affecting your cities that would otherwise be perfect.

Still I'm super Jazzed about this game and can't wait for February when Maxis releases both the PC and Mac versions at the same time. GoukiJones, you and I will have to build cities together.

That's right! We can just have our own Gouki planet.

Being forced to play online would be trash. You should be able to turn it on to interact if you want, but not be required. I guess next up they will have to do a space version so you each have your planet.
