Fallout New Vegas gameplay with Josh Sawyer

By: goukijones Jun 20, 2010 | 6 Comments

I get like 47 seconds with Josh Sawyer, before we're told to stop filming. Don't worry I'll tell you more about our conversation.

Fallout New Vegas looks just like Fallout 3, so graphics aren't the issue here. Controls felt the same to me; it was very easy to jump back into it. Josh Sawyer is the game’s Project Director and he was there to answer all of my questions and walk me through a quick experience in Fallout New Vegas. As I grab the controller I start to punch and fight the first guy I see. I didn’t know that I was in a casino at this point and I had no weapons. I was raiped by security and was quickly dead. Josh sighed and told me to hit load, we have to start all over again. So here we go from the beginning of the press demo.

The game loads up just in-side Las Vegas on the strip. Doesn’t look anything like the Vegas I know, but I understand that 200 years in the future it should look completely different. They’re always blowing shit up in Las Vegas. I can’t remember clearly what happened next, I began to walk around the city and I saw someone I wanted to punch again. Before Josh could stop me I had already decked the Ceaser’s Legion security guard and then I died again. Ok, push start and load the last game. Josh at this point wanted to strangle me for sure.

Now we head right over to the casino, so he could show me the gambling. Table games and slot machines and if you win too much, the casino will boot you out. Cool. Now I want to go shoot some Jimmys.

So we load up a mission. Typical Fallout 3 mission style. Go talk to this Jimmy, go to this spot, go find this Jimmy, go shoot these Jimmys, pick up the thing, return the thing, talk to the Jimmy that originally gave you the mission and mission complete. Watch the video. It’s Fallout New Vegas from E3 2010 with Josh Sawyer.

Inside look at Skullgirls Cerebella and Filia Gameplay

By: iorilamia Mar 28, 2011 | 6 Comments

Skullgirls may be more technical than you think.

In this video uploaded by http://www.youtube.com/user/TheBBVlog we get the lowdown on Cerebella, a grappler and Filia an all around fighter. The guy explains her moves and what she can do, the games mechanics really do sound appealing. The game also has Push Blocking, instant air dashes and Delayed Hyper Combos. He also displays more of the Infinite Detention system that allows you to burst, and calling assists to do unblockables (hitting low and high) I'm still not down with the art style, but it may grow on me. So I took notes on what he says, check it out and the video below.

Cerebella

- Close Command grab

-Far reach command grab that whiffs when close (can follow up with it)

-Anti air command grab (can combo into it)

-Air to ground command grab

-Air fierce clap (like Hulk) that can also glide.

-Slow-ass super armor run that can cross up, attack or stop

-Overhead command grab..that OTG'S...and staggers (so you can combo after it) Most OP thing I've heard of

-Rush punch like Makotos

- Supers with HUGE startup, but no startup upon Delayed Hyper Combo (DHC)

- can flick away projectciles shot at her (Just like potempkin in GuiltyGear)

Filia

-uppercuts

-ground projectile drills (Exactly like Eddie in Guilty Gear)

- Rolling attack that can combo (similiar to Felicia)

-Air grab, that can be comboed into air roll

-Decent supers that can be comboed into, one is a uppercut

-sliding move that causes knockdown

-can special / normal into super, even if it whiffs!

So what do you think of Skullgirls? Does it have what you want in a fighting game? Does it remind you of any other games? Don't be a jimmy, leave a comment and more info if you have any :)

Batman The Brave and The Bold featuring FNJimmy

By: goukijones Jun 21, 2010 | 4 Comments

Batman beat-em up game FTW!!

batman the brave and the bold screenshot

We only got a few minutes to play the game. Adam from developer WayForward[too far forward, for FNJImmy] was there to help us out. The game is a simple beat-em up like classic Ninja Turtles games. Batman and depending on the level/stage, Batman’s partner will be different. Theres TONS of weapons and gadgets and power-ups. You can throw each other into bad guys, you can throw bad guys and then catch and pwn them from your partner.

batman the brave and the bold screenshot

Here’s where it gets crazy, Adam pulls out a Nintendo DS and drops into the game on the fly with Bat-mite. First he starts healing and helping Jimmy and I, then he starts dropping classic Warner Bros. Acme anvils and 1 ton blocks onto our domes. So Bat-mite can be played as helpful or annoying. Cool ad on and the fact that he can just drop in and out is really cool. Also when you’re playing single player, second player can also jump in and out on the fly. Gotta pee, like FNJimmy piss pants? Drop out real quick and let the computer play. Hell I’ll probably have a better chance. Enough of this, watch the video featuring FNJimmy.

Where's the beef? Oh wait that's from the 80's you young Jimmy's don't have a clue about that. But you should get the gist of it. Beef = actual gameplay. There is none.

Ok maybe a little bit, but without a HUD for one. That was my first issue. Then you have a few cut away shots of the guys crawling on the floor or jumping down through a hole. Granted that could be actual gameplay, but to come out and say this is the Premiere Gameplay Trailer ... I find that to be a little misleading. The preview goes by so fast that you have to watch it a couple of times and try to figure out which parts EA is trying to say are actual gameplay clips. One clip of looking down the site and firing. That doesn't cound does it?

Don't get me wrong, Battlefield is my most favorite of the Earth war shooters and I'm totally looking forward to this new installment. Here's hoping we see something innovative and not just another rehash, reversionized, remake, redone, you get where I'm going with this right? Homefront looks like it's going to just be another Earth war shooter ala COD and/or Battlefield. At least Crysis is trying to do something different. And Brink I'm hoping will be in a class of it's own. Anyway check out the trailer below and let me know what you think of the "Premiere Gameplay."

You know you wanna get on the Galactus as soon as you get the UMvC3. First make sure you have a saved game from Vanilla MvC3 on your HD. Here's my PWNn through the entire game with Galactus. #dontbeajimmy

Cinderkin found this game, Full House Poker tucked away in the corner of the Microsoft Booth at CES 2011. What the hell is this game?

Microsoft's booth was pretty quiet game wise. Halo Reach was there, something else I didn't really care about and can't even remember now. I just know I was extremely bored and wasn't there for really long. I couldn't wait to get out. Then I saw Cinderkin up agianst the back wall jammed between two televisions, squatting, looking through some narrow passage. A few minutes later when he caught up to me I asked him WTF?! He told me, he found this game called Full House Poker for your Xbox 360 Avatar. My reply ... Nubfarm. Here's the video.

Uncharted 3 Multiplayer has some very unique features, like nothing in any other game to date. Once again NaughtyDog may revolutionize gaming. Also a How To get in the exclusive Beta in June.

Let the groin kicking begin. Sony and Naughty Dog have released a ton of new information for Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception today. It's all about the Multiplayer. A little background here, I played the multiplayer for Uncharted 2, twice and didn't like one second of it. It seemed like something just put together real quick, so they could say they had a multiplayer. This goes in line with other games that have added multiplayer, even though the game didn't need it all, the Nubs demanded it. Bioshock 2 is a classic example of a game that didn't need multiplayer.

Uncharted 3 wants to show you something completely different.

UNCHARTED 3: Drake's Deception- Multiplayer Trailer

Bonus for the music selection. Great song for a great video. Not enough sound from the game is the only issue here. But I'm sure it sounds great. There's ton of explosions and a lot of action on screen, something the PS3 does so well. It's unfortunate very few developers know what to do with the PlayStation. Some of the new Uncharted 2 deatures like the Medal Perks sound like a cool idea:

You have to option to select a specific Medal Kickback, which activates when you’ve racked up the required number of Medals for that specific Kickback. You can see this in the Multiplayer Trailer when the RPG Kickback is activated at 00:50 into the video. You’re taking a little chance when you select these, as some really choice Kickbacks require you to get a significant number of Medals before you can activate them.

So with your typical loadout selection, main weapon, side arm, perks and bonuses, you will also select something for medal kickbacks. The cooler the shit, the more medals you gotta collect. The vertical levels of Uncharted seem to be way more invloved with this multiplayer version, you can see in a few clips, Jimmys getting grabbed and thrown off buildings. It's gonna be sweet if it's a smooth motion of climbing and running. Hardcore Parkour Jimmy! No game has successfully done that yet. We're all waiting to see what happens with Brink, because Crysis 2 Multiplayer sucks.

Some of the game types seemed to be outside of the box. Some of the map desgin is certainly something you've never seen before. Power Plays change the end of the game and sudden death in Uncharted 2 is one of the most exciting things from all of the news today.

If matches are too close to call as they get close to the end, Overtime will activate, giving either time an opportunity to win the match by more than one point within a limited time. If the game is still too close to call, the match enters Sudden Death. Sudden Death is similar to Elimination – there are no respawns and the last player standing wins the match for their team.

That sounds awesome right? A winner will be decided by the last man standing. I wish other games had done this. As far map design, on the airstrip, one team starts on a plane going down the runway and the other team starts on a bunch of trucks chasing after the plane, you can see that in the video too and it is just bananas.

Now lemme go back and talk about the games types. I've watched this trailer like 4 times now and yes, the song is a quite addicting, but I really wanna test this game out too. Three team deathmatch, vintage Halo Multi-teamesque, but 2v2v2. Free for all, which is classic FFA. These two game types will be available on the beta. More info on game types and other features for Uncharted 3 (Including the sad face social networking experience) will be released at a later date.

Want to play the Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception multiplayer beta? There's only two ways to get in as of right now. Be a member of Playstation Plus and get early access to the beta or purchase a copy of Infamous 2. The beta starts on begins WORLDWIDE on June 28, 2011.

WWE '12 Predator Mode and Finisher Videos

By: goukijones Aug 17, 2011 | 2 Comments

WWE Apostrophe 12 finally had it's roster reveal this past weekend at SummerSlam. This week WWEGames released some gameplay videos of the new Predator mode and some finisher videos like Zack Ryder & The Undertaker.

If you guys don't know by now, Team Gouki are huge fans of the WWE. We have been since we were kids. We even made a fantasy wrestling game you can play online, on our sister site DroptheBelt.com.

We've also taken WWE SmackDown VS Raw 2011 and simulated every PPV match since the game was released last year. With WWE Apostrophe 12, we're not excited to play it. We're excited to watch it! I really hope there has been a vast improvement to the AI, we haven't seen much of that in any of these videos so far. We're also looking forward to seeing how vast and in-depth the create a modes are this year.

But for now check out these great new vids.

Predator Mode

Zack Ryder

R-Truth (Which is already out dated thanks to the WWE who just added the music back in.)

The Undertaker

Kelly Kelly

Alberto Del Rio (He should have custom license plates, but at least he has Ricardo Rodriguez)

John Cena VS CM Punk from SummerSlam 2011 (trying to be like Gouki.com huh? Well both wrestlers have to be AI. That would have been special for me.)
