Battleborn delayed until May

By: BatRastered Nov 9, 2015 | 1 Comments

Prev Feb 9, now May 3

Battleborn just wrapped up its closed technical test. It seems Gearbox wants more time to polish the game up based on what they've learned.

"We at Gearbox are feeling energized by the data of our Closed Technical Test, and the additional time will allow us to better act on the feedback for Battleborn competitive and cooperative play when it releases.  We sincerely appreciate your patience as we work tirelessly on Battleborn. We look forward to sharing the Open Beta with everyone next year."

Previously scheduled for Feb 9, 2016, Battleborn will now ship out May 3, 2016.

Battleborn May 3 2016

Coming Feb 9, 2016

From the creators of Borderlands comes Battleborn, a new first-person shooter for every kind of badass available on February 9, 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Command 25 unique heroes and save the universe from the brink of extinction! Fight alone or alongside friends, play story missions or mow down foes in competitive multiplayer matches.
Four new badasses enter the fray in this trailer: Ambra, Reyna, Mellka, and Benedict

Oh boy, more stuff to gather.

Did you like Borderlands? I did. It's one of my favorites.

Did you like Borderlands 2? I did for a while. It was fun leveling up and through the first two playthroughs. The later added third playthough was a chore though and lessened the fun for me. The only DLC I enjoyed was the D&D inspired Tiny Tina one and that was mostly for the story as the guns were crap. BL2 had some serious issues with loot, as in not giving it out, and not having the same variety and overpowered fun feel of the first. Also many of the guns used 2, 4, or even 6 bullets per shot which really hurt ammo management, forcing you to scour every box and other lootable item in the game just to keep firing. But it's still a worthwhile game if you can get it cheap with all DLC included.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place chronologically in between the two games (hence the odd title), but make no mistake, this is BL2's engine.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel announced

By: BatRastered Apr 9, 2014 | 3 Comments

A sequel to the first game and a prequel to the second game = pre-sequel. Playable claptrap and we finally get an ice element!

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place between the first and second games in the series. Witness Handsome Jack's rise to power as you play as Athena, Wilhelm, The Sheriff, or Claptrap.

So it looks like Borderlands is not immune to the "ship it off to another studio for a quick follow up while you work on the next-next version" disease. Obviously I'm not a fan of this, but the stuff in the video looks alright and it's on PC so it's next-gen for me. No love for PS4/XBone users is a surprise though.

The game will be released "later" in 2014.

Borderlands 2 level cap increase incoming, new playable class revealed

By: BatRastered Mar 24, 2013 | 3 Comments | Updated: Mar 25, 2013

During the Gearbox PAX East panel, new information about upcoming Borderlands 2 content was revealed. Here's all we know, plus some video!

Level Cap

On April 2, 2013 there will be a free patch that will unlock the third playthrough Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode (UVHM).

Also on the 2nd, there will be a $5.00 (400 MSP) DLC that will raise the level cap 11 levels to 61 and introduce new Pearlescent rarity gear (similar to the General Knoxx DLC in BL1). This DLC will be FREE for season-pass holders.

New Character

Sometime in May, we will be getting a 6th playable class... the Krieg, the Psycho Bandit! Here's the reveal trailer:

The Krieg class DLC will be $10.00 (800MSP) and NOT included in the season pass. Here's some low quality off-screen footage of Krieg blowing shit up.

  • abilities you've seen the Psycho use on you
  • 'negative things' can be Positive
  • Aggressive, High-risk, high-reward 'in your face' feel
  • rewards being CRAZY
  • If you're successful, he's very powerful

melee AND throwing
Gets 100% health for killing people during action skill

BLOODLUST TREE -- Gaige-like 'stack accumulation' and kill skills. Stay in combat and keep doing damage. *lots of gun skills*

MANIA TREE -- Ultimate high-risk, high-reward. Melee damage boosts; taking damage is good! Teammates can damage you to power up your skills!

HELLBORN TREE -- GET ON FIRE!! SMELL DELICIOUS!! Also light other people on fire. Also skills for other elements.

While in FFYL mode, can run around with dynamite until he explodes (killing nearby enemies for a second wind) like a suicide psycho. (This looks to be an optional skill in the mania tree).

New campaign DLC

Sometime in June we will be getting a full, fourth, campaign DLC. This one will be fully developed by Gearbox and will cost $10.00 (800MSP) like the others and be included in the season pass. They say it's the largest DLC ever (including Knoxx).

Bonus fun midget video

Just for the hell of it... a real life psycho midget terrorizing people in a mall.
