We have now reached Week 2 of the community suggestions for balance adjustments for Street Fighter 4.

This week is: T. Hawk, Zangief, Dhalsim, Chun-Li, Blanka, Gouken, Dan, Rufus, Cody, Vega.

Over the last seven days, the Character Balance Suggestions Threads have been on fire. We here have been reading your requests and there have been some gems of knowledge there, but also a lot of wishful thinking...to put it nicely. Anyhow, we're in week two, so head over to Character Balance Suggestions threads and let us know how you would tweak the 10 characters named in the video below.

Combofiend stated that some of the previous week of suggestions where a "Doozy" and "Outlandish"  So be sure to make your voice heard with some "real" suggestions over at Capcom Unity.

What are some of your suggestions for this weeks characters? Anyone agree that Dan should become a God? Tell us what you think in the comments. Don't be a Jimmy!

Cinderkin(Rose) vs WolfKrone(Cviper)

Sheepsmuggler(cammy) vs Wolfkrone(Cviper)

Desk is back with a new Execution Exhibition video this time featuring El Fuerte and Abel. This is really cool if you're looking to get your execution down with these characters. Check it out.

Youtube Description:

Not a combo video as such, more an exhibition of what the featured characters are capable of. Each clip is essentially a 'set piece' that you could practice, to aid in improving execution and general consistency. The HQ, close-up stick footage and detailed, real-time transcript is present to help you along, if you want to be hardcore :)

He's currently taking votes on which of the twins [Yun/Yang] will feature in my premiere SSFIV:AE video. Whoever get the most votes (Yun/Yang) will be the subject of a dedicated character combo video on June 7th.

Also you can check out Episode 1. Tell us what you think in the comments. Don't be a Jimmy!

Just for you Jimmy's who like SSF4 raps

By: DragonKiss83 May 25, 2011 | 7 Comments

This is Vega's new anthem, by JJ

Just for you Jimmy's

This is so repetative.  Not very good in my opinion, but these things are everywhere.  Who's going to be next?  My vote is Akuma or Evil Ryu.

Are epic comeback factors in fighting games a good thing?

By: iorilamia May 24, 2011 | 11 Comments

Some of the top fighting games have gone into a trend of having crazy comeback mechanics. This goes beyond your regular super move. Ultras, Red-Mode,Critical Counter and the controversial X-Factor have been relatively new. Are they good to have?

Fighting games takes lots of skill, dexterity and focus. Always generating lots of hype, fighting games are one of the most competitive genre of gaming. But what creates even more excitement are comebacks. Being almost dead and doing a epic combo or seemingly reading what your opponent will do and block/ counterattack to victory displays lots of skill or possibly luck. Comeback mechanics have been in fighting games forever but in the recent years with SF4, MvC3, Tekken 6 and KOF12 we have been exposed to some very interesting comeback factors that do require skill (some more than others) and have changed the outcome on many tournaments and casual play unexpectedly. Some of these mechanics seem reasonable, but a few may need to be altered a little. Here is what I think of them:

A Look Into The Tournament Scene

By: starlordtitus May 20, 2011 | 9 Comments

Ever wonder why people go to tournaments? To compete, to be the best, the crowd? All of the above. Fact is, the tournament community could be better described as one big trash talking hyped up family. Let's take a look.

Many players that have decided to become serious about their skills head off to their nearest touranment and eventually the bigger tournaments such as EVO and the soon to be CEO. But tournaments are more than just entering and becoming champ, they in themselves have their own atmosphere. One often questions if he's ready for his or her's first tournament. The scene can be pretty intimidating the first time. Seeing other players there to do exactly what you came to do, compete to win and prove you are the best.

Most players end up losing within the first round, or, they end up going pretty far. But either they end up giving up, or the more likely scenario, they end up coming back for more. And eventually one discoveres the absolute joy of the tournament scene. Players become friends, hype is increased all around, and you may even find yourself admiring another players skill or they may admire yours! A player at a tournament will find inside jokes, create his own, befriend a whole group of players and even create his own. Tournaments also come with funny trash talking and the most common, "Being Salty' after losing in the tournament. A term used in reference to pouring salt on a wound which down right stings. The sound of arcade sticks clicking, loud funny remarks from your local token black guy :D. The increase of temperature as more people attend. The  list goes on. And so does the fun.

The tournament scene becomes that much more fun the more a player attends them, as he becomes more relaxed and learns the dos and don'ts. The player learns about the different fighting styles their are, strategies to bette one's game. The term "Leveling Up" is used in this scence as one gains experience. As such, the people of tournaments are usually very nice and funny. Humor is highly recommened to spread around. You could earn a nickname for any little thing. Eventually even earning a true name for yourself as you progress in ability. The greatest moments in a tournament, is during a high stakes match when both players are cutting it close  and one mistake could cost you the entire show. The hype only intensifies as the crowd roars with cheers and applause as well as down right screaming xD Perhaps the most unique thing you can find at a tournament, is the sight of girls! Yes, girls from time to time attend tournaments and even enter them a great amount of time for  those who wanted to stereo type video game tournaments XD

Aside from all of this, is the obvious payout should one win a tourney. Usually being a very good sum of money that most of us have to have a job to acquire :D In addition, respect from the community and eventually invitations to bigger tournaments as you progress. Tournaments have a little something for everyone, usually being held in hot spot locations that even provide food and drink. I highly recommend anyone interested in becoming better and competitive to enter a true sanctioned tournament.

Now, I leave you with a few classic examples of a tournament scene. You be the judge :]

Top 5 Anticipated 3DS games - contest entry

I havent owned a handheld gaming system since the Game Boy. That being said, here's my entry

1) High School Musical 3DS - With an option to eliminate Zac Efron and all the other male characters in the show from the game. Stop Vanessa Hudgen's nude pics from leaking! Help Ashley Tisdale get fitted into her cheerleading uniform! (Hellcats crossover FTW). Explore lesbian themes! Do homework. Sing songs. Mature audiences only.

PS.  For jimmy there will be an option to eliminate the female characters.

2) 5 Hour Energy 3DS - Oh no! You only have 2 hours to get ready for work AND read the newspaper. Find the 5 Hour Energy hidden in your cupboard in order to relax. Find the 4 Loko instead and play a bonus game of "Where did I hide the murdered hooker?" Rating: Everyone

3) Guy with a gun on a decimated planet attacked by Hostiles 3DS part 8 - just to get this over with because you know it's coming by the 5th month of the 3DS being out. Rating: People who don't get tired of the same thing

4) Ke$ha presents - I am the Dance Commander and I Command You to Dance 3DS - self explanatory. The future of music presents the future of gaming. Unicorns, lasers, Jack Daniels, HOT FUCKING TUNES. Must buy

RedRapper is in the SSF4 3DS U.S Commercial? Holy...

By: iorilamia Mar 14, 2011 | 6 Comments

US commercial for SSF4 3DS released, with a very familiar voice to the fighting game community...

RedRapper is featured in the comercial spotlifght for 3D ssf4. This may not be exciting to some (specially if you are not a fan of his work) but it is pretty cool. He has done a lot of songs for the fighting game community, most known for his Evo 2010 finals rap. Congrats to him. I like it, the song fits well with the commercial, short and sweet. Check it out and leave your comments below.
