Thanks for the Pax Swag

By: DragonKiss83 Sep 1, 2011 | 4 Comments

Arth beat me to it, so I had to try and fing a more creative way to share.

So once again I have been hooked up by Gouki.com, this time it was some great swag from Pax 2011.  Arth posted his story showing the package we got.  So I decided to do something special.

The first shot was fun, but it just didn't stand out.

So I figured Master Chief could use a trip to the beach.

And my son of course had to join the fun.  There was also a pic of him with the Omniblade, but it didn't come out good.

So once again I am a happy jimmy thanks to the crew here.  Thanks again guys.

For my fellow fiends looking for some UMVC3 footage

By: DragonKiss83 Aug 27, 2011 | 2 Comments

Capcom Unity hooked us up with a little over an hour of footage. And Marvel.com updated Poenix's costumes.

I'm dying to get my copy.  It still feels so far away.  But seeing the game in action helps a little.  I'm really looking forward to learning Ghost Rider and Dr Strange.  And hoping that we will see some DLC by Christmas.  Nemesis still looks really slow to me, but I think his damage output will be worth it for the players that can figure him out.

Here's a link to the costumes http://fans.marvel.com/marvel_interactive/blog/2011/08/25/umvc3:_the_ultimate_in_super_hero_fashion_%28today:_phoenix!%29

And if you guys got an extra one of these  from 2K I know the perfect Jimmy to send it to......

Borderlands 2 Grab Your Gun

By: dragonkiss83 Aug 12, 2011 | 3 Comments

What good are a ton of guns if they are all the same? Borderlands 2 is going to make sure you know what you're packing.

In Borderlands there were countless gun that you could find and use.  Some had special powers, like the wave gun, others were kind of generic.  But they all had a brand, could you tell them apart?  This time around Gearbox wants to be sure you know who made your gun.

The Tediore guns seem to have a special style to them.  When you run out of bullets you can throw it like a grenade, or leave ammo in for a bigger explosion.  The gun will then respawn.  Now that sounds like fun to me.

The Bandits will also be in the gun business this time around.  You could be sporting a bottle instead of a scope or a  screw instead of your sight.  But they are going to offer the biggest clips.

Torque is going to bring the heavy hitters.  These guns are all about a show of force.

These are going to be the sleek guns according to Gearbox, to me that means silencers and and assasin feel.

Jakobs should be a name you remember from the first game.  This time around they will be bringing the old school guns and lots of damage.

Dahl is another familiar name.  They will be offering up more realistic guns along the lines of what you see in your average FPS.

And Hyperion brought us claptrap so you can expect that to be the style you have.

Vladof will be hooking you up with the guns that are all about the fire rate.  And as an added bonus they will sport minigun barrels.

With this much thought being put in for your guns my hopes are even higher for the rest of the game.  They are taking the time to be sure that each maker has their own look and feel.  And with any FPS your gun choice defines your play style.  Will you be the guy who picks of the enemy from a distance or do you want to blow them apart?  Borderlands 2 will let you play your way.  Are you a spray and pray player or a gunslinger? You're covered.  And of course I can't help but to hope we will see even more alien tech.  Did you have a favorite gun from the first game or did you just use whatever you could find?

Don't be a jimmy.  Let's hear what you hope they reveal next. Maybe what gun maker you are going to be looking for.  What other types of characters do you want?  We already know the Berserker will be able to do some double weilding what other perks do you want?

Borderlands 2 FTW

By: dragonkiss83 Aug 3, 2011 | 8 Comments

Gameinformer has revealed their cover for September and it's great news. They will have 12 pages about the game.

My head just exploded.

" Gearbox is introducing new and more diverse environments, smarter and more powerful enemies, and an improved mission system capable of delivering a better story." Gameinformer

I picked up the first game thanks to the hype here on Gouki.com and I've loved it.  It is one of the best shooters I've played.  Getting to upgrade your character and collect loot brought in the rpg feel.  And the story was delivered with comedy so it kept you going.  I am so hyped to get info about the next game that I'll be looking for the issue and the websites to drop whatever they can.

What do you jimmies think?  Hyped for this?  Did you like the first one?  What do you hope they add?  Anything you want removed?  Don't be a Jimmy let's here what you think.

Breath of Fire 4 heading to PSN

By: dragonkiss83 Jul 31, 2011 | 3 Comments

There are so many great series that are worth replaying or trying out if you've somehow missed them, Breath of Fire has a spot on that list.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/07/31/breath-of-fire-4-sets-psn-ablaze-in-august.aspx source

If you were a fan of the series you'll be hyped to see it showing up on PSN August 16th.  If not read on and you might decide to give it a try.

Your main character it Ryu, a badass who can transform into dragons.  He is out to stop this immortal evil emperor from destroying the world.

Like any good jrpg you will collect a team that brings their own flavor to the fight.    And these characters are more than just canon fodder.  You also get a great soundtrack that is more than just background music.  The score is epic and helps you get into the story as it builds.    The graphics are pretty dated so maybe if we are lucky they'll clean them up a bit.  But this game is a must buy and hopefully they will put a fair price on it.

I hate that the computer I'm using now has so many issues because I really want to get more into the story, but it's crashed on me twice already.

So if you are a fan of rpgs and have that chance buy it Jimmy!

GLaDOS has a music video the song is Want You Gone

By: dragonkiss83 Jul 7, 2011 | 3 Comments

This shit is funny

I saw this and thought of you Jimmy's.  I watched it and it made me laugh so I had to share it.

Here's the link to where I found it http://nerdreactor.com/2011/07/07/glados-drops-want-you-gone-music-video/

It jokes about a GLaDOS cd, but made me wonder how many of you would really pick it up.  I have enjoyed the the videos and stuff more than the actual game, and that is pretty odd.  Hope you guys enjoy this.

Elder Scrolls V Skyrim huge video

By: DragonKiss83 Jun 10, 2011 | 3 Comments

This is about half of the video they were showing behind the scenes at E3

Let's start by saying I was dying for this game since before they announced it.  I have loved the Elder Scrolls series.  You get to run around in a very open world, build your character however you choose, kill anyone and anything you want (sometimes it screws up the story and stops you from being able to finish the game) and play however you feel like it.

But with the 5th game in the series they have added so much that the game can't help but blow your mind.  But the video does way more for explaining it, so here it is.  And this is how it looks on the 360.

Something they get to early is the fact that you can dual weild spells and using both hands leads to a bigger spell.  That takes the game up some.  You were able to dual weild before, but not like this.  And we will also get killing blows this time around.  So you can expect to have a more cinematic experience, instead of the same stab over and over you can finish the enemy off with style.  We also get to see that instead of a basic stat sheet that they are giving us a star chart to build our skills in, and you create constellations as you do it.  You can also look forward to over 150 dungeons in the game, and to make it better they have different dungeon styles this time.  There are even visual clues as you play like flowing water that will help you find your way around.   Free roaming dragons, that means they can do what they choose, show up any time, and even help you some.  You will need to kill them to build your shouts so get ready.  About half way through the video you even see him cast a spell on the ground that works as a trap.

The main problem I have with the game is that we don't get it until November 11th.

Are you hype?

Soul Calibur V has a lot of new faces.

By: DragonKiss83 Jun 9, 2011 | 5 Comments

Adding some new faces helps but half the roster?

Just one of the new faces you'll be seeing this time around.  Patroclus is the son of Sophitia.  His sister Pyrrha will also be in the  game.  The roster will be 20 - 30 characters, plus there will be a create a charachter option of some sort.

source http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/09/soulcalibur-v-has-20-30-characters-half-are-new-character/

http://www.gameinformer.com/games/soulcalibur_v/b/ps3/archive/2011/06/09/soul-calibur-e3.aspx

I made mention of a lot of new faces before but here they have confirmed half of the roster will be new.  How do the fans of the series feel about that?  And with 10 - 15 returning characters who do you want to see?  Any characters you hope are getting cut?  Plus we have had some talk about bonus characters, who are you hoping for?  I'll try the game no matter what because of the history I have with it, but I might not be pre-ordering this.  There is still a ways to go before we see the real game and the version they let people play at E3 was barely built.  And with all these new characters being brought in what can we expect?  If you aren't a fan of the series what would it take for you to give the game a chance?

Nintendo's stock has dropped

By: DragonKiss83 Jun 9, 2011 | 5 Comments

E3 just hurt Nintendo

source http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/09/nintendo-stock-loses-another-five-percent/

So here's how it goes.  Nintendo shows us the Wii U, the next day thier stock drops 5 percent.  The next day it drops another 5 percent.  For those of you who struggle with math that's a 10 percent drop in just 2 days.  The stock hasn't been this low since before the Wii 5 years ago.

I personally lost faith in nintendo when they made the N64, I hated that thing.  I got my start with games back on the NES and still love it.  Then the SNES had some incredible games.  But the N64 had a control that I didn't like and a ton of kids games.  So I became a Sony guy.  But they still own the rights to some great characters.  So for years I've joked that they need to just stick to games and forget these consoles that I'm not a fan of.  But I'ld rather have to play a Wii than lose the characters completely.

And I am sure that investors were looking for something big out of E3, but the Wii U just wasn't what they wanted.  This doesn't really hurt the company but it might serve as a wake-up call.  The 3DS has not done anywhere near as well as they expected.  What do you think about this?  Is there someway for Nintendo to win you back?  Or are you not bothered by any of this?

Dragon's Crown Trailer

By: DragonKiss83 Jun 8, 2011 | 3 Comments

If you are looking for some 2D action and dragons this could be just what you've been looking for.

VanillaWare is bringing a 4 player online dungeon crawler.

I wish there were more details on the game, but most dungeon crawlers run the same way.  You have different classes, mage, warrior, dwarf, amazon, and you fight your way through to kill a giant dragon.  But this was always enough to get us to poor quarters into games and there have been countless games for the home consoles.  But we keep buying them.  But as we get older it's harder to get a team up and going so being able to get online and team up makes it a lot more fun.  hack and slash games don't need much more than good controls and good animation to make it, and in my opinion the graphic style looks great.  I'll be waiting on more details how about the rest of you?
