Crysis 2 6 on 6 multiplayer demo is dropping in on the 25th of Jan, same day as the Bulletstorm demo. Check out the new trailer!
Crysis 2 is looking bad ass. Some of the sweetest multiplayer changes I've seen to date. Sliding into cars and knocking them over for cover, climbing over obstacles to slam down on enemies. Ok so maybe it's been done before, but Crysis 2 makes it look damn good.
After watching the trailer I'm stoked to get my hands on this demo. Looks like a lot of fun. According to a recent press release, the Crysis 2 MP demo will include the "Skyline" map, and two game modes: "Team Instant Action" - AKA Team Deathmatch - and "Crash Site" - AKA Crysis 2's take on territories

Two new studies find that the engrossing virtual worlds and visual puzzles found in video games significantly lessen individuals' physical pain or mental stress.
We need to get FnJimmy playing Tetris.
Research funded by the National Institutes of Health and presented at the American Pain Society's annual scientific meeting found that playing video games does more than just distract people from physical pain. By engaging other senses, such as sight and touch, game play reduces signals in areas of the brain that are associated with pain. This is particularly true for games that are motion-controlled or feature 3-D worlds, which offer a more fully engaging experience. In a test conducted with burn victims, researchers found that playing video games reduced patients' reported pain ratings by 30 to 50 percent.
Another study conducted by researchers at Oxford University and published in Public Library of Science found that visual puzzles, such as the classic video game Tetris, could reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Following exposure to video clips, participants recorded how often they experienced flashbacks from the film. Those who played Tetris experienced fewer nightmares and painful flashbacks than participants who played a trivia game or did nothing. The study suggests that games challenging a player's visuospatial skills may offer a cognitive treatment against the development of PTSD.

I recently got through playing this game, and wanted to write up a review explaining how I feel.
So I've played the Mario and Luigi games that came before this one, and loved both. I even went back and replayed superstar saga after I finished it, but unfortunately I didn't feel the same about this one. It was as if something was missing, or perhaps something was there that shouldn't have been.
Story: The story was actually pretty good. You start off in a meeting at Peaches castle in order to try and find a cure for a mysterious disease that has struck the mushroom kingdom .The Blorbs. It's making all of the Toads bloat up like party balloons and nobody knows how to get rid of it. A strange turn of events takes place in which Bowser is tricked into eating a strange mushroom which makes him inhale everybody at the meeting. Once inside Bowser it's up to you to find everybody else and help Bowser in his quest along the way.
The comedy was still there for me too. If you liked the charm and wit of the first two games I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Gameplay: This is where the game lost me. It's basically the same as the last two. Nothing really that groundbreaking as far as the combat goes, and even that's fine with me. My real irk with the gameplay is Bowser. Sure it sounds awesome at first. "Yay! I get to play as Bowser" I thought to myself with child-like enthusiasm, but halfway through the game my thoughts had drastically changed to "Why the hell am I still playing as Bowser?" It's just not the same. I thought I wanted what the game was advertising, but I was wrong. I have to admit there was an hour or so towards the end of the game in which I was having a blast, but it was only because I was playing as Mario and Luigi, but that was taken from me almost as soon as I started to have fun.
It wasn't all bad though. Some of the new special moves were pretty entertaining. Especially the one where you fed a bunch of food to Luigi and threw him at your enemies.
Graphics: The graphics are about the same as we've come to expect from the DS. Nothing really spectacular going on. It looks pretty much the same as Partners in Time did. The lack in a variety of enemies was fairly disappointing to me though. Most of the time I felt as if I was just fighting the same thing over and over again, and I don't remember feeling like that in the first two games. The environments inside Bowser get a bit stale too. They don't really change much. However in the mushroom kingdom you get to see some different places and a few of them are pretty cool. I particularly liked Bowser's castle.
Music and Sound Effects: The sound effects were pretty good, and the music helped keep a delightful feel around everything that was going on. The gloomy parts in the game sounded gloomy, and the happy times felt happy. I don't really have that much to say on the subject other than that. Nothing really wow'd me, but nothing left me feeling disappointed either.
Final Judgment: All of the elements of another great Mario and Luigi RPG seemed to be there, but the gameplay hindered it way too much for me. I'm not saying that it's a horrible game, but it didn't pull me in like the other ones did. Towards the end of the game it felt like a chore, but if you're a fan of the series at least give it a shot. It's not the game for me, but it might be for you.

This is my picks for Street Fighter x Tekken and why.
The wait is almost over Street Fighter x Tekken is almost at our finger tips. This upcoming fighter mixes the Street Fighter 4 engine with Tekken characters, Street Fighters characters as well as some Capcom and Sony related characters. The anticipation is building up so much at this point that many of us are already thinking of character combinations to make the ultimate duo.
Personally my first pick is Yoshimitsu, this character is pretty epic to say the least. I remember playing as Yoshimitsu in ps1 Tekken games as well as Soul caliber. This character has a variety of fluent sword attacks as well as almost insane behaviors such as his teleport ability which is done by spinning on the floor while swinging the hilt of his sword up and down in an almost ritual like fashion.
My second pick Is Mega man aka (Dan in mega man costume) this may come as a surprise to many because of its absurdity but first you must understand that my current main characters in StreetFighter 4 are Yun and Adon which are both missing from SfxT at the time. I think this mega man will be a great hold over till a future update to the game adds my mains. All I got to say is what better way to induce rage on your opponents than to crush them with a Dan looking mega man, the biggest joke in this coming installment to the series.

Dualshockers.com did a recent preview of Marvel vs Capcom 3, and they had plenty of good things to say about the game. One of the bad is that SSF4 and MvC2 style spectator mode for online play is not available.
Here is a copy and paste of what they had to say:
"When Marvel vs. Capcom 3 releases in just under two weeks, the game will not have spectator mode. Players in player matches with lobbies of up to 8 people will not be able to watch the game taking place as they wait their turn. This is said to be remedied in the very near future, but still. Another feature that players would and should expect is the ability to record and save videos of their matches. This ain’t happening. And this may or may not be remedied (ouch!)."
How come no one mentioned this before Jimmy? Why even give the option of an 8 player lobby without spectator mode? How did Capcom drop the ball on this shit? I mean come on Jimmy! I'm extremely pissed about this. Who agrees this is garbage? Tell us in the comments. Don't be a Jimmy!
