No shows from Metroid and Yoshi after 2017's video teases. Don't worry tho, HELLA Smash Bros.

Ok, so there were a few games that Nintendo showed us that was alright.  The most exciting for me was Super Mario Party.  Overcooked 2 looked like it could be fun in the short term.  And Fortnite was finally announced for Switch and is available for free download today.  A few other games, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, etc. etc.  This was a very weak presentation from Nintendo.

Then we have 25 minutes of Smash. This is great news for fans of this game. It is the Ultimate version, which includes every single character from every Smash game.  It is the largest video game crossover ever.  Speaking about this 25-minute video, this is a perfect example of how I wish every game demo went for E3.  Here’s our new game.  New features.  New characters.  Things that used to work like this, work a different way now, here’s what it looks like.  The game director goes on and on about the game and its features.  Then ends with a release date  Oh how perfect all of E3 would be if it was just full of videos like this one below.

My firsthand account of the Sony PlayStation Press Conference E3 2018.

Playstation had the strangest press conference this year.  The first part was in a tent designed to look like a level from The Last of Us Part II.  I’ve been to these press conferences before, and everybody was complaining it was hot in L.A.  I would not have tolerated one droplet of drip during any of these shows nowadays.  There is no need for separate tents, huge dance numbers, dirt bikes, 100 consoles on stage for no reason.  WTF.  I strongly believe the people planning out the press conferences don’t actually even play video games.  Anyway, The Last of Us Part II looks like it’s going to be as much fun as the first one.

Video Game Company Sucker Punch Productions who previously developed Sly Cooper and the Infamous games, showed off their new game.  Samurai Batman!

Almost every game Ubisoft showed today was going to have a beta you could register for. You can definitely try it before you buy it with most of these titles.  That is probably a good thing since nothing really stood out for me here.  I was hoping to see something new that I could be excited for, but that didn’t happen.  I was looking forward to seeing Skull and Bones, but that game looked unfinished and not at all fun.  The best looking game was Beyond Good and Evil 2, buuuuuut even in the gameplay clips of this game it looks just like every other action beat ‘em up.  Around 6:35 you can see the combat.

Here’s the entire clip from the press conference for Beyond Good and Evil 2.

What's the game you wanted to see most from Square Enix?

Square Enix Press Conference E3 2018 So We’re Just Going To Ignore Final Fantasy VII

When the day started out I knew the Square Enix E3 Press Conference was first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, the only game I had any interested in was the progress of Final Fantasy VII.  Well, we got 0.  The game was not shown.  The last I heard was the entire studio was fired and the game has completely restarted development.  But hey, that’s Square for you.  The game will come out when it’s finished.  And that’s fine.

There was a new Kingdom Hearts trailer shown.

Major, Major news coming from Bethesda. Fallout 76 is online! Starfield is real and they are working on it and a new Elder Scrolls.

Bethesda started the night off with an Andrew WK performance that got the crowd all riled up for the big show.  I’m certain there will be some great MEME’s coming from that part of the show.  Then they showed trailers for Rage 2, ESO, Doom, Quake, Prey and Wolfenstein.  All of which can be seen on the Bethesda YouTube Channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/BethesdaSoftworks

Fallout 76 is an online game, but don’t worry, you can also play solo.  However, Todd Howard says it’s best to play with friends to get the best experience.  Check out the trailer.
