Zero2990's Dead Island character build (Sam B)

I decided to start creating character builds because I see to many newbs online

So some of us was excited for Dead Island before release, No? Well I was and it turned out to be a pretty shitty game, that was before I looked at character builds that make this game actual fun.. Yes Dead Island is actually fun, can you imagine? 

So the last week I've been playing as the top hat sporting power house/rapper Sam B. Some people online have no idea how Sam should be played and opt for the machine gun approach, not in this build. Borderlands 2 Grab Your Gun

What good are a ton of guns if they are all the same? Borderlands 2 is going to make sure you know what you're packing.

In Borderlands there were countless gun that you could find and use.  Some had special powers, like the wave gun, others were kind of generic.  But they all had a brand, could you tell them apart?  This time around Gearbox wants to be sure you know who made your gun.

The Tediore guns seem to have a special style to them.  When you run out of bullets you can throw it like a grenade, or leave ammo in for a bigger explosion.  The gun will then respawn.  Now that sounds like fun to me.

The Bandits will also be in the gun business this time around.  You could be sporting a bottle instead of a scope or a  screw instead of your sight.  But they are going to offer the biggest clips.

Torque is going to bring the heavy hitters.  These guns are all about a show of force.

These are going to be the sleek guns according to Gearbox, to me that means silencers and and assasin feel.

Jakobs should be a name you remember from the first game.  This time around they will be bringing the old school guns and lots of damage.

Dahl is another familiar name.  They will be offering up more realistic guns along the lines of what you see in your average FPS.

And Hyperion brought us claptrap so you can expect that to be the style you have.

Vladof will be hooking you up with the guns that are all about the fire rate.  And as an added bonus they will sport minigun barrels.

With this much thought being put in for your guns my hopes are even higher for the rest of the game.  They are taking the time to be sure that each maker has their own look and feel.  And with any FPS your gun choice defines your play style.  Will you be the guy who picks of the enemy from a distance or do you want to blow them apart?  Borderlands 2 will let you play your way.  Are you a spray and pray player or a gunslinger? You're covered.  And of course I can't help but to hope we will see even more alien tech.  Did you have a favorite gun from the first game or did you just use whatever you could find?

Don't be a jimmy.  Let's hear what you hope they reveal next. Maybe what gun maker you are going to be looking for.  What other types of characters do you want?  We already know the Berserker will be able to do some double weilding what other perks do you want?

Borderlands 2 Axton the Commando build guide

Axton has quickly moved up my list of favorite characters in BL2, his turret action skill is quite good on its own, but with the right skills and weapons you can do the work of two players by yourself.

First the Survival Tree, I'm not a big fan of this.

You can see the relative offensive weakness of this build at about 4:45 in the video I throw a turret on each side of a basic loader, and I still have to kill it myself. I don't recommend the turret without the rocket pods. :) If you had 3 more points you could get the Scorched Earth rocket pods too. So with the 11 levels coming April 2, that's what I'd suggest first. If I did this over, I'd probably go with the rockets over the longbow just for the damage boost, but mag-lock without longbow is not very useful and Battlefront (extra damage when the turret is out for all your guns and grenades) is just so damn useful that I can't really recommend either version of this build unless you get the level cap DLC and get all 3 this build falls apart.

Now the Guerilla tree, the fun starts to pick up.

This is a good damage build with decent survivability. It allows the turret to slag, which is useful and will be even better in the upcoming third play through. The turret also has rocket pods and a shield. As far as Axton himself, he gets to carry 5 extra grenades and his shield will be recharging quickly most of the time. This is a good build that will only get better with the 11 new levels, allowing you to either add longbow and battlefront or get the twin Gemini turrets. Very versatile.

Finally we get to Gunpowder. NUKE!

This build is a great all around build as well, you still get the rocket pods from Guerilla and a good amount of defense, but you get a ton of DPS both from your nuke turret (basically an awesome, rechargeable grenade) and the use of the Battlefront skill. You'll note the Kerblaster assault rifle in the video shoots a projectile that explodes, drops a grenade and explodes again. This works with all the grenade damage boost skills too so this is my current favorite high DPS build. With 11 more skill points you can reach the slag turret too (double up, at the bottom of Guerilla tree) which will make this build very useful for the third play through. Also, nuking things is fun. :)

Razer Onza hands-on CES 2011 with goukijones

Quick there's a scruffy white dude looking at the xbox controller, send out the cute little Asian girl. Heard. goukijones literally gets a hand all over experience with the new Razer Onza controller for Xbox 360.

Seriously, everything was completely professional. I did not care for this controller at all. I don't like cords and it comes with a 15 foot cord. sad face. There is no confirmed wireless version. The two extra shoulder buttons are programable and that is a cool idea. But they are too close togther. Maybe that would take some getting used to. I was also not impressed with the d-pad. Microsoft just created the twisty d-pad, which is great. The Razer Onza has another flat surface for the d-pad. Jimmy don't like that. The highlight of the controller is the adjustable thumbsticks. I really think that will make a huge differnce in any FPS experience. Hey yo, send me a wired one for free and then maybe I'll consider buying a wireless one.

Halo Reach

Co-op campaign? Check. Firefight (horde mode)? Check. Deathmatches? Yup free-for-all and team. Capture the Flag? Sure... Single and multi! Don't forget oddball, invasion, stockpile, headhunter, infection, king of the hill, and assault with one bomb or multiple. All this plus a great matchmaking system that doesn't get in your way. 

Super Street Fighter IV

Endless battle, enough said... amiright? Now that there is tournament mode too, not to mention the fun you and your buddies can have in local vs battles, the only thing stopping this from being played is the inevitable next version of the game.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

An XBLA summer of arcade game this year, Lara Croft surprised us with some neat co-op puzzle solving that may only be one-upped by the introduction of Portal 2 next year.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Wow... This game really came out of nowhere at the end of the year and has stolen all of our time. Even when you're not racing against your friends or random naubs in the online mode, your friend's times in the career are tracked and compared against yours in the autolog. A truly great feature that takes this game from interesting to awesome.

Duke Nukem Forever Demo Detailed

I've copied and pasted an article talking about an upcoming demo for Duke Nukem Forever. Not because I'm lazy, but because typing anymore than this about Duke will just Depress me.

Those of you that are anxiously awaiting your opportunity to play Duke Nukem Forever should be aware that 2K Games today announced that picking up a copy of Gearbox Software’s Borderlands Game Of The Year Edition, releasing October 12 for PC, PS3, and 360, will grant you early access to highly-anticipated Duke demo.

Yep, those that pick up the GOTY version of Borderlands will receive a key to the “Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club” granting its members access to various exclusive goodies including the demo before it is publicly released.

Only thing – we don’t know when that will be… 2K only states that the demo will be released “prior to the retail launch of the game”, which is currently slated for sometime next year. Also, we don’t know how much lead time the fancy pants First Access Club members will have before the Duke demo becomes publicly available.

Of course, we’ll keep you informed, but those of you on the fence about Borderlands Game Of The Year Edition might have just received your purchase incentive.
