Halo: Reach to be patched with new balance, and an old friend!!
At PAX's Halo-Fest, 343 Industries announced that a title update will be heading to Halo: Reach, changing some of the balance of the games's weapons and armor abilities.
First up, Armor Lock:
It looks as if the Armor lock ability will be nerfed quite a bit. first of all, plasma grenades will no longer detach from the player if they use armor lock. This I feel should be necessary because This is one of the abilities that I hated to deal with the most. Also, The duration of armor lock will now be based on how much energy a player has instead of a set time, effectively diminishing it's usefulness.
Next up on the list: Active Camo:
All they are going to do is shorten the amount of time you are in Active Camo mode. I don't know if this could be a good thing, or a bad thing.
and now, other balance changes:
Players will no longer block another players sword with any other weapons except for another sword. To me, this makes if feel more like classic Halo mechanic, seeing as how in Halo 2 and Halo 3, you couldn't block the sword with anything but the sword.
Players will also be able to change their reticule's "bloom", allowing for increased accuracy during rapid firing. To be honest, I could welcome this inclusion.
A shield bleed-through effect will be included in the update, meaning that any damage that takes out the last portion of your shield can be carried over to your health.
The last update is for those who like the magnum in Combat Evolved. the magnum will get a boost in it's power, being one step closer to it's original power. This is one of the best things I've heard for reach in a long time. Sure, the magnum is good as it is now in Reach, but with this upcoming update, It's probably going to be the go to gun, perhaps more than the DMR.
The update will kick in starting in October.

[UPDATE] This is what I get for being sick during EVO. Development has started. It's just a DLC update, could you imagine another disc? Fans would riot. Unless there is 10 new stage, at least 4 news fighters and maybe some new modes. Ha! I'm dreaming.
I don't know if this is even real. Ono likes to troll us sometimes. Maybe this is the update and the balancing that will carry Street Fighter IV until Street Fighter 5 comes out. EVO showed me that there is plenty of characters to use, you just need to be good. EVO good. Here's the pic.
Here's the tweet
Woooo,we're developing AE 2012 just now! ;) We'll do our best to live up to your expectations! ;D
Well that's it. What are your thoughts. I'm pretty sure you don't want to pay for this right? Considering some of us have paid for 3 versions of Street Fighter IV at this point.
You should follow Ono san if you don't already. There's tons of sneaky stuff like this and of course Ono san always posts pictures of girls and booth babes from around the world. Don't be a Jimmy!

PSN PASSWORD RESET EXPLOITED
Early reports suggest that Sony's request for PlayStation Network users to reset their passwords could have inadvertently exposed the network to a new set of attacks.
The exploit allows hackers to change user passwords via the PSN password reset page, using just two pieces of information -- a PSN account email address and a date of birth -- both of which could have been obtained in the original breach.
The exploit was initially reported by Nyleveia, but the story has since been confirmed by Eurogamer, who claim to have seen video evidence corroborating Nyleveia's claims.
As a consequence, the PSN sign-in is currently down on a number of Sony's sites.
Update: Sony has commented on the situation. In a post on the official PlayStation Blog, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications and Social Media Patrick Seybold noted: "We temporarily took down the PSN and Qriocity password reset page. Contrary to some reports, there was no hack involved. In the process of resetting of passwords there was a URL exploit that we have subsequently fixed." Seybold encourages consumers to reset their passwords directly on their PS3s if they haven't done so already.

GoukiJones discusses briefly how Brink has grown since 2009. Just two weeks to go until the release of Brink, we get another look at full on gameplay. Brink is looking to set a NEW STANDARD. If Brink fails, it could be the end of the FPS.
May 10, 2011 will be the release of Brink. Brink is developed by Splash Damage, who made 2 Wolfenstein games, Doom 3 and Quake Wars. Splash Damage has tons of experience making FPS games and whenever I hear Paul Wedgwood talk about Brink, I get real excited. Real excited. The first ever video I saw of Brink was the SMART engine walkthrough video narrated by Paul 2 years ago. There is no combat in the video, Paul just demonstrates how you move around in the Brink. SMART back then meant Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain.
You can read more about that in my original story: Is the SMART engine in Brink the future of FPS
Recently on Machinima interview Paul referred to the SMART engine as Smooth Movement Across Rough Terrain. (@3:17 in the video.) Now I'm just saying here, Rough and Random are two different things. I like the sound of Random more, Rough may not mean as much freedom in the game as I once expected. Granted, Paul could have just slipped up or forgot the name of his engine right? Or, during development Splash Damage just could not do what they wanted to do with the SMART Engine, so they changed the name a little to represent better. Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain sounds like I can go anywhere. "Rough Terrain" not so much.
Here's that Machinima Interview.
IG Extended: Brink Interview w/ Paul Wedgwood (Splash Damage)
So you want to know about the Get Smart, The Basics. I'm not going to fully describe the video I expect you to watch below, but I'd like to point out a couple of key things that are keeping me hyped up. FYI, I don't care about character customization, I don't care what my guy looks like, I can't see him. The missions and tasks during the game look very exciting, I hope it's a continuous PWNfest. Being able to switch whatever your task is, will keep you thinking, what can you do next. If you look closely in the video you can see a few clips of the SMART engine and it is looking Badass nice. The bottobline is the SMART engine is going to shock people when they first play Brink.
Brink Get SMART Series: The Basics
Brink's got a lot of hype to live up to with me personally, I've been following the game since 2009. I played it last year at E3 and spoke with Bongo Boy Ed Stern himself. This genre is failing right now, there's no inovation, games and velopers are going backwards. If Brink doesn't show me something new, you can expect my FPS Hiatus. Please leave your comments below and let me know what you think about Brink. I will have it launch day and I will be looking for a party. Don't be a Jimmy!Read full story...

Portal 2 release dates slips. Valve thinks it okay though, claims the shortest delay in the history of the company.
I just received an email from Valve stating that Portal 2 will now be released on April 18, 2011. Valve claims this shortest delay in history. I think they are trying to be lol. But some gamers may not be too happy about it. I'd rather a good game be delayed then a shit game be released. And it's only two months. Here's the email I received.
"VALVE ANNOUNCES SHORTEST DELAY IN VALVE HISTORY
Valve today announced that Portal 2 -- the sequel to the ground-breaking title that won over 30 game of the year awards, despite missing its original ship date -- will now be available the week of April 18th, 2011. This two month slip not only marks the shortest delay in Valve's proud tradition of delays, it represents the approaching convergence of Valve Time and Real Time. Though this convergence spells doom for humanity, it will not affect the new Portal 2 release date."
Until then, enjoy some of other Gouki.com Portal 2 stories.
