IGN interviews Randy Pitchford and you get some interesting dialog.
Embedding the video didn't work so if you want to watch over an hour of it follow the link.
You get everything from his opinion on used games to questions on Duke Nukem and his future and Borderlands 2.
Apparently he thinks that the developers should get a cut of the used game sales. In my opinion if they aren't buying the game back themselves they don't have a right to the re-sale. If I sold you my old car the maker doesn't get a cut. At one point I managed a used video game store that was part of a small chain almost all of our profit was used games, with new games we made $5. So something where we were basically taxed by the game studios would have been a disaster.
He also says that the Duke Nukem game wasn't incredible but was still above average. I think he is either to sentimental about it to be objective or just wishful thinking. He admits it was still a very 90's game. But says in the next game he will evolve to fit our times better but won't abandon who he is.
He gets pretty off topic at times, but it just shows he is a "nerd". He is into games, movies, comics, and all that goes with it. He mentions community day, and I caught a decent part of it on stream and they showed some new in game footage of an after game boss. They also talked about the possibility of more DLC characters.
Brothers in Arms Furious Four gets touched on some, but as a game I was not hyped about I kind of zoned out. He makes it sound as if it's being split into two games. Since the Furious Four was more of an Inglorious Bastards type story then fitting with the Brothers in Arms series.
He even agrees that the pre-order dlc exclusive to each retailer is a pain. Then points out that Gamestop got something extra for Borderlands 2 because they invested in the game and the marketing. So I guess I shouldn't gripe about it.
All I can say now is fuck I can't wait until Tuesday so I can start playing Borderlands 2.

In the premiere club (pre-order) you get a golden key and now we know what it's for.
So, you’ve got a Golden Key. Maybe you pre-ordered Borderlands 2 from a Premiere Club retailer or maybe you were lucky enough to snag a code from a Gearbox event or giveaway -- there are a variety of ways to get a Golden Key, and somehow you nabbed one. “But how, O handsome Gearbox developers,” you ask, “does the Golden Key work? Exactly? Also you are very handsome.” Firstly, thank you for the compliment. Secondly, the Golden Key is a rare item that unlocks a special Golden Chest in the friendly city of Sanctuary. Here’s what that Golden Chest looks like:
So, you’ve got a Golden Key in your profile and you start up the game. What happens next? Firstly, you’ll have to get to the city of Sanctuary. This should take you about three hours (two hours to play through the missions leading up to Sanctuary, and one hour for physical recovery after you injure yourself laughing at the impeccably written dialog). Then, you’ve got a decision to make. See, the loot inside the Golden Chest is always of “very rare” (purple) quality and scaled to your character’s level at the moment you open the chest. If you’ve only got one Key, you need to consider: do I want some high-quality loot right now, or do I want to wait until I’m closer to the (considerably more difficult) end of the game? Do I want my Level 21 Maya to open the chest, or should I switch to my Level 33 Axton? Keep in mind that you cannot trade or sell Golden Keys, and once you’ve used a Key to open the Golden Chest, that Key is gone for good. So, you know. Choose carefully. Whatever your decision, the loot you get from the Golden Chest is like any other piece of loot in the game – you can trade it, stash it, or sell it at your own discretion!
And knowing is half the battle... and for you younger jimmys google the reference.

The extra class has some more official info.
I saw this today on Facebook. if you pre-ordered and got the Premiere Club you'll get it free. If not it will cost you $9.99 on PS3 or 800 MSP on Xbox 360. And it will be released on the 16th of October for everyone. So we get about a month to play before we get the new class. And with the weapon storage system they added the time you'll be able to level her up with ease.
I'll be on PS3 will any of you? It seems most of the site is going to be playing it sooner or later how many pre-orders? Anyone going to have to buy this later?
I may have just found the best building sim yet.
Arvadecraft is being developed by Firebase Industries an indie company I've never heard of. The idea that drives the game is the chance to build your own arcade. You'll be dealing with machines breaking and your customers getting tired of games.
I couldn't find any release date for it, just that it is being made for the PC and XBLA download.
Will any of you be interested in this?
A new mode for Halo 4 to start.
I was oblivious to the fact that this even existed. But from what I understand it was some weird ass fan made mode. But it is going to be included this time from day one. They describe it as being similar to rock paper scissors, but I don't see a connection. Watching the guys beat the hell out of each other and throwing off the presenter was kind of funny but I'm still kind of confused about the game. So if one of you jimmys can fill me in that'ld be great. Looks like a mode built for a Golden Review in my opinion.
Brought to my attention by the hot redhead with the pokeball.
The redhead with the pokeball is a model for Suicide Girls and the song is for Minecraft, two birds one stone. Enjoy!

Naughty Bear didn't have the biggest audience but if you were one of the few who enjoyed it I have good news.
In case you missed it the original Naughty Bear let you control a homicidal teddy bear. You were able to find various weapons and could also use a lot of environmental objects as weapons, such as a grill. They even had special costumes of everything from a pirate to a superhero, with pre-order only costumes of Jason and Freddy that I've still never got :( . The story kicked off with this teddy bear being left out of a party and the announcer sends him on a killing spree. Now you need to have a special sort of twisted sense of humor to really enjoy this game. The graphics weren't close to cutting edge, the voice acting was cheesy, and the controls weren't perfect. But the game was more about getting a laugh than being game of the year.
It was announced that a sequel was in the works and then it kind of dropped off the map. Many of us assumed the game had been dropped and information on the sequel was nowhere to be found. And then today I was reading through a copy of Game Informer that I got signed up to again by shopping at Gamestop and I randomly found details about Naughty Bear 2.
The sequel is called Naughty Bear Panic in Paradise and will be a digital download for both PSN and XBLA. It will be here in September so it will be lost in the shuffle with big name titles coming out, but as a downloadable game it should have a reasonable price. Maybe the jimmys here at Gouki.com will even set FnJimmy up for a Golden Review. I know I'll be playing it either way.
And they even dropped an announcement trailer for any of you interested.
And some gameplay footage,
So will any of you be playing? Ever even hear of the first one?
More of the same with DoA, but there are some new features to enjoy
We already new that with Dead or Alive 5 we were going to see some Virtua Fighter characters so hearing that Sarah Bryant was one of them wasn't earth shattering news. And as someone who wasn't that into the series it's not a big deal to me.
We also know that there are always tons of costumes (some stranger than others) and this shot of Hitomi Shows we can expect more of that. And there is also a clown suit for Zack so I see a pattern.
They also say that the levels will be more destructible and if you have the demo you can see that for yourself.
The graphics look great, but that is another constant for the series.
We can expect more than 20 characters, and we know a few so far. Not much room for surprises there, but they don't say how many past 20.
Two new features are Critical Bursts (not their tops sorry jimmy) that will allow you to stun your opponent for a couple seconds. The second is Power Blows, allowing you to charge up your attack and direct the way your opponent flies.
Tag battles will be back again. I prefer the one on one matches, but it's more of the same. There will even be team Power Blows (try writing that without adding a dirty joke) that could turn the moment of the fight.
Not that much to really shock us, but with a formula that has worked this well you really don't need to mess with it much. Still at the top of my list for games to get this year (who know maybe with some help from Gouki.com) and with a release date set at September 25 it makes that month feel so far away. It's the same month as Borderlands 2 (like anyone here didn't know that) and 2 months never felt so long and that's coming from a guy who went through basic training for the Army.
How many of you are counting the days until you pick this up? Anyone Playing DoA 4 and the demo like crazy while you wait? Or are you just waiting for the high def jiggles?

Criterion is making the new Burnout ... I mean Most Wanted
Godzilla is Back!
Well the Nissan GT R at least.
We all new EA was planning another Need for Speed and I wasn't Hyped. After seeing this I'm still not exactly hyped but I'll be considering it. I loved the Burnout games and if that is the direction this is taking it could be fun. The graphics look pretty good. And well racing isn't exactly ground breaking, you have sims and arcade style and for a good game you need to find some middle ground.
They say against friends, now if this is just the autolog no big deal, but if we can run through town with friends tearing stuff up it'll be great. Hot Pursuit already let us run from cops as a group so this sounds like the right way to go.
With the Elder Scrolls series we have come to expect a few things. Open worlds, kill-able NPCs and turning into a vampire and werewolf.
Now that is what I think of when I think about playing as a vampire. Forget the Twilight angle where you don't realy look different. In the other Elder Scrolls games a vampire looked like everyone else, but the npcs knew you were infected. The werewolf changed though. I guess we can thank the Underworld series for getting the hellish looking vampire put in.
But you can also join the Dawnguard if you want to hunt vampires down. So you can play it from the side you choose.
If you go vamp you can meet others like yourself and get into their stories. They mention a girl caught between her parents as they fight for power. Not exactly an original idea, but still sounds fun to me.
Transforming into the real vampire form will let you have some nasty melee along with special vampire skills. Like bringing a corpse back to life to help you. And with the wings you can take limited flight.
The expansion should be good for around 15 hours of extra play, but if you're like me you can go way beyond that just terrorizing the citizens.
It'll be on the 360 June 26th and PC and PS3 will have to wait an extra month.
And Game informer had a list of perks for the vampire:
- Power of the Grave: 50 bonus points to health, magicka, and stamina
- Vampire Grip: A Force Pull style ability that allows you to pull distant targets toward you and choke them
- Summon Gargoyle: Conjure up some help in battle with one of these menacing monsters
- Corpse Curse: Paralyze your foes with this magical blast
- Detect All Creatures: A vampire who wants to live long should stay aware of his surroundings
- Mist Form: Turn yourself into an invulnerable cloud of mist while regenerating your health, magicka, and stamina
- Supernatural Reflexes: A slow motion style ability that allows you to move quickly in for a kill while the enemies move sluggishly
- Blood Healing: Killing someone by biting them restores all of your health
- Unearthly Kill: Night powers and Blood Magic cost 33% less
- Poison Talons: Melee attacks deal 20 points of poison damage
- Night Cloak: A shroud of bats feed on enemies within melee range

I could have swore they said 3 was the end....
So the story is that in Gears of War: Judgment the survivors of Team Kilo (Baird, Cole, Garron, and Sofia) are being tried for treason. WTF? Apparently saving the world was a bad decision. They stole and didn't follow orders and their choice could kill millions.
Before you lose you shit (for the wrong reason) this is a prequel. Now you can be pissed if you are anything like me. They could add to the story, but in most cases prequels just wreck the story.
They also say there will be two new characters introduced.
So here is that big surprise I was hoping for. I'll try it just because I enjoyed the series. Hell I won #3 from here on Gouki.com http://gouki.com/Story/Details/my-take-on-gears-of-war-3
So what do you think? Are you hype? Pissed? Do you give a crap at all? Lets hear it.
I heard about it last year, still no release date, but we have some screens.
Last year I heard there was a Marvel MMO coming out eventually thanks to Gamasutra and got hype with almost no details.
Check this link if you want to see round 1 http://gouki.com/Story/Details/marvel-universe-mmo-will-be-free-to-play
Here is a look at alt. costumes from the Hulk (Planet Hulk) and Spider-man.
Oh look what is that almost dead center on the screen? Deadpool! Kind of hard to tell with the others but at the bottom that looks a lot like Northstar or even Quiksilver. And it could just be wishful thinking, but the guy to the far left in the line with Deadpool looks Gambit like to me. (check the source link for the screen shot, it doesn't want to cooperate here)
And no surprise there is Spider-man.
And a Hawkeye teaser from the facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/marvelheroes
With a quick look Emma Frost (White Queen), Storm, Colossus, Black Widow, Ms. Marvel, Cyclops, Thor, Captain America, Thing, Wolverine, Iron Man, and I even saw Magneto playable in the video.
So already my hype is building back up. And E3 is so close maybe we'll see some more. Maybe a special request to check it Goukijones?
They say they are using the Unreal 3 engine. Not exactly cutting edge, but not the worse choice out there.
We will be playing as major Marvel characters, but we will be able to customize them based on their various costumes. They are including Squirrel Girl and Cable, so they are reaching into the reseres instead of just an Avenger like line up. Randomly generated environments are not my favorite, but I can overlook that. They'll be Savage Land, Hell's Kitchen (guess we'll see Daredevil), Midtown Manhattan, the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning and Mutant Town.
Brian Michael Bendis is officailly on as the writer. So that is comforting, they could have tried to put any clown in the driver seat.
And with Gazillion Entertainment behind it they have the experience of Diablo and Diablo 2 behind them. Not feeling as half-assed as I feared in the beginning.
And here is there official page http://www.marvelheroes.com/
Let's not forget the reveal trailer.
My source this time around was http://nerdreactor.com/2012/05/22/marvel-heroes-freetoplay-mmo-announced/
