I'm not sure if this is what you wanted to see.

They announced this preview was going to be 15 minutes and you can see it came up short on that.  Much like the rest of the game, it doesn’t seem to be the end-of-console type material I expect to see from such a title.  The graphics are not super great and the level design or AI really struggled in this reveal.  How many things throughout the world will have some sort of Wall Climbing/Running mechanic attached to it?  It’s Respawn right, they gotta have wall running.

All gamers know that controllers break down and stop working after hours upon hours of usage, but what if I told you that there was a controller out there that could handle all of that AND it was one of a kind, made just for you? Well, there is....

Gamers across all platforms have come across an ongoing problem within our hobby: CONTROLLERS BREAKING. If you’re anything like me, you’ve gone through a few dozen controllers throughout your gaming career and are SICK OF IT. That’s a lot of money that could’ve been put towards new games and even my Xbox Live subscription! However, I’ve gotten my hands on my very own Xbox Design Lab controller that I think is the solution to our problems. I know most of you are thinking that The Lab is purely for cosmetic customization, which is what it’s supposed to be, BUT I’ve found out that they can be much more than that.

You get a good taste of Death Stranding gameplay with this 8 minute trailer.

I was impressed with the climbing and scaling of the mountains. The terrain looks very detailed. I hope it requires strategy and skill to move around in the world.  In this trailer you get to see what the combat looks like as well.  I got an Outward type of feeling as I was watching it.  The main character jumps on the bike and speeds off, you can see the enemies getting in their vehicle attempting to cut him off.  I'm very excited to see if those are the actual mechanics of the enemies as they hunt you down.  When he drops part of his backpack he then goes back to collect it which is very cool.  I can't wait to see this game fully running.  I'm cheering for Kojima to just bury the competition, out on his own with this new studio.

Death Stranding is a PS4 Exclusive. Pre-order from Amazon or Gamestop.

Gonna be streaming this LIVE on Gouki.TV!

Yes, they are still making this game.

Looking good, looking good!  There's some quick footage of the combat and I can't really get a grip on how the action is going to play.  There's a Punish button and an Attack button, I don't have any clue what either one of them do.  Plus a Commands Menu button that seems to be dimmed during combat.  Throughout the trailer I'm still only seeing parts that look like they are from early in the game.  What worries me is that the game may be so extravagant that they do actually release it episodic style like was mentioned in the past.  It'll be a strange thing for the industry, but not something that is crazy in 2019.

Borderlands 3 How Does Instanced Loot Work?

By: goukijones May 8, 2019 | 1 Comments

From the gameplay reveal stream May 2019.

I'll just want share my highlights from the hour long gameplay demo and playthrough that aired live on the internet.  The graphics and design of the game looks like you would imagine a top tier game should look like in 2019.  It's beautiful. It showed incredible looking fires and water.  Mechanical wise... this is where stuff gets interesting.  The addition of sliding at the end of a run and being able to vault up walls is going to add so much depth to the platforming aspect of Borderlands and the treasure hunting.  This is all shown early in the video.

Featuring an old Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson joke and a skinny Dr. Robotnik.

It doesn't matter what your name is! To me - a huge wrestling fan all my life - that joke is way old. I think Jim Carrey should know better.  Will The Rock respond?  I don't care that Robotnik isn't fat or shaped like an egg... , but the end of the trailer suggests that the Dr. may undergo some changes in this movie.  Nothing here I would pay to see in the theaters.

Grimshade Gouki.com Review

By: goukijones Apr 29, 2019 | 1 Comments

What I had the most trouble with was reading the map. I couldn’t make it out of the first zone or past the quest “Stashes of Brann.”

Grimshade is a tactical turn-based game.  During battle the teams are separated by a line down the middle of the battle field.  You have a small grid to move your characters around on.  It’s not free roaming like Final Fantasy Tactics, you can’t walk to the side of an enemy or get behind them.  Some of the characters have moves that get behind the enemies, but every fight takes place with this virtual line in the sand.

I started the game on the hardest difficulty setting.  The combat early felt more like I was just memorizing the sequence of attacks from the enemy to be ready to counter.  I didn’t mind this and felt the combat getting more challenging with each fight, especially when I started adding more party members.

What I had the most trouble with was reading the map.  I couldn’t make it out of the first zone or past the quest “Stashes of Brann.”  I have played many games in my lifetime and spent two 90 minute sessions running around this map looking for this one missing item. I had collected two of the three items and the map showed me the general area they were located, but not exactly where.  You can walk right into different areas of the map without any indication that it is happening. So I had the idea of just going around the outside and inside walls to search for the missing item.  When I found the second item it was hidden underneath a floor tile.  At this point I knew for sure which area one of the three items came from. The second item in my inventory I did not know what area I had picked it up in so that meant I had to search both areas again.   This is when the back and forth started for like two hours.  I knew it was one of two areas and I felt like I had completely combed both areas and clicked on everything possible.  This is when I began to think that I may have glitched the game.
